Katie Dee is a Consultant Epidemiologist at the North East Quality Observatory Service. She is currently working with Health Education North East to develop metrics to monitor safety and quality across the region and is leading projects on lung cancer and falls.
Katie has 18 years experience working in the NHS and the Civil Service and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. In her previous role as Deputy Centre Director for Public Health England in Cheshire and Merseyside, Katie led the the Health Care and Health Improvement teams. Prior to this, Katie was the Assistant Director of Public Health at NHS North West and worked to deliver a wide range of regional strategies.
Katie is also a Doctoral Researcher at Durham University where she is examining health inequalities in Northern Europe.
