The nine independent hospices across North East England have formed a collaborative (Hospices North East, HNE) working together to enable collective description of the type and volume of services provided, and the patients and their families served.
NEQOS were involved in the development of this project and in providing analytical and technical support.
Two of the independent hospices in the collaborative provide services for Children and Young People, predominantly providing respite care for those with non-cancer diagnoses. The activity relating to these services is described in a paper recently published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood.
