Andrea has worked in senior analytical roles in the NHS for over 16 years and is currently an epidemiologist for NEQOS where she has a dual role.
NEQOS is the current provider for the NICE National Collaborating Centre for Indicator Development (NCCID) programme and Andrea is the Project Director of this work. She is responsible for identification, development and testing of indicators for the NICE Indicator Menu (which includes indicators considered for QOF), and presenting findings and recommendations to the NICE Indicator Advisory Committee.
Andrea is the measurement programme lead for the AHSN North East and North Cumbria which involves the identification and utilisation of various information resources to describe the effectiveness and quality of healthcare services and specific work programmes to improve population health.
Andrea has recently been awarded Membership through Distinction of the Faculty of Public Health. She has a wide range of knowledge and experience of working with Health and Social Care data. She has a degree in Medical microbiology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences and a PhD in Otitis Media with Effusion from Newcastle University, and has published articles in a number of high impact journals.
